U.S. Navy retired Chief Petty
Officer Hank Kudzik served on the submarine USS Nautilus
(SS168, built in 1930). At the Battle of Mid Way, the
Nautilus encountered several enemy ships, survived
numerous depth charges, and assisted in sinking a
wounded Japanese aircraft carrier. In the aftermath of
Pearl Habor, Henry helped to remove the bodies of fallen
soldiers and sailors for internment.
